Take Advantage of the NEW Home Renovation Tax Credit

Thinking about going ahead with a home renovation project?  Now is a great time, thanks to the NEW home renovation credit.  This is a temporary credit so you will need to take advantage of it before January 31, 2010.  Until then, you can claim a Home Renovation Tax Credit (HRTC) for 15% of your renovation expenses which fall between $1,000 and $10,000.  The maximum credit is worth $1,350.

This credit applies to a wide variety of home improvements such as kitchen, basement or bathroom renovations; new flooring; the building of an addition, fence or deck; adding a new furnace; interior or exterior painting; landscaping. 

Contact your favourite home improvement store or professional home renovator to find out of the project you have in mind will qualify for this credit.
